Workshops

Future Workshops

Given the unsure availability of instructors in the busy lead-up to 2010 elections, we have not yet settled on date for our next introductory campaign training workshop. Once a date is settled, an announcement will be made on our website, social networking platforms, and to our mailing list. If you are interested in attending a workshop or joining our mailing list, please contact us on our website or email apply@veteranscampaign.org--we will be in touch!

Spring 2010 Workshop

Veterans Campaign’s second workshop and first at The George Washington University took place August 24, 2010 in Washington, DC. The event trained over 100 veterans and added a talented set of trainers and guest speakers to its program. It featured a video address by Congressman Patrick Murphy and training sessions anchored by campaign professionals from across the political spectrum.

Fall 2009 Workshop

Veterans Campaign’s inaugural workshop took place on September 12-13 in Princeton, NJ, hosted by Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. The event quickly filled to capacity of 75 participants and was a rousing success!

Participant Testimonials

“I found the Veterans Campaign workshop an invaluable resource in honing my narrative that links honorable service to country on a national scale to public service at a more local scale. As a candidate actively engaged in a Congressional Campaign, the topics were extremely relevant and timely. I highly recommend this curriculum to veterans of any era.”

~Tom Wesley, 2010 Congressional Candidate, MA-2

“An absolutely superb basic workshop in preparing for, and running, a political campaign...I learned more from this workshop than from all my other sources combined from preparing my current campaign.”

~Stephen Spelman, District Attorney Candidate, Springfield, MA

"Things you will never learn in school or life: how to correctly and efficiently run for public office. Unless you are prepared to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on consulting firms, you will never be as prepared to plan and launch a campaign as you will after attending the Veterans Campaign. The first panel of experts really set the tone for the program. Extremely valuable expert knowledge, stuff you just can't get anywhere else."

~Louis Celli CEO, Northeast Veterans Business Resource Center, internationally recognized small business developer, Boston, MA

A highly informative symposium with seasoned speakers delivering actionable information and guidance.

~Pat Guarnieri, lawyer and campaign organizer

“Being actively involved in managing a campaign right now, I was impressed by the amount and quality of advice. In two days the attendees got many of the lessons that have taken me months to learn.”

~Jonathan Feifs, Campaign Manager for Tommy Sowers, candidate for Missouri’s 8th US Congressional district
